Exynos 5 is an eight-core octa processor for mobile devices developed by Samsung. Designed to be a low powered, high performance mobile processor, the Exynos 5 chip uses ARM's big.LITTLE processor technology that switches between two clusters of four cores each: ARM Cortex-A15 for performance, and Cortex-A7 to handle lighter workloads while providing better battery life. The Exynos 5 chip significantly improves the 3D gaming performance while achieving up to 70 percent higher energy efficiency compared to the previous quad-core Exynos.
