StarCraft
Starcraft is a series of two games that are arguably the most popular real-time strategy games of all time. The games are focused on an interplanetary war between three distinct and playable races - the Terran, the Protoss and the Zerg.
The original title was released in 1998 by Blizzard Entertainment to rave reviews. It remains widely played today even despite the release of its sequel StarCraft 2, with many of the competitive e-sports leagues holding international tournaments in one of the two games.
They are especially popular in South Korea, where international tournaments are given prime-time slots on national TV and the players are treated as celebrities.
