antihipertenziv
Antihipertenzivi su sredstva za liječenje povišenoga krvnog tlaka. Imaju vrlo različit mehanizam djelovanja s centralnim i perifernim učinkom. Najvažnije skupine: inhibitori simpatičkoga živčanog sustava, adrenergični (alfa i beta) receptori, diuretici, izravni vazodilatatori, kalcijski antagonisti, antagonisti angiotenzina, blokatori serotonina. Dokazan je hipotenzivan učinak nekih sredstava pučke medicine kao češnjak, maslina, imela, glog i dr. Uz medikamentno liječenje treba regulirati tjelesnu masu i ograničiti unošenje soli.
